Female Disability Support Worker

We are seeking anEXPERIENCED FEMALE DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKER  to join our dedicated team in supporting a lady who lives in her own home in Redland City.   MUST list suburb of residence on application. MUST LIVE WITHIN 30 MINUTES DRIVE OF CAPALABA IN REDLAND CITY.

CURRENTLY AVAILABLE:  3 SLEEPOVER SHIFTS  5.30pm - 9.30am comprised of 8 hours active duty and 8 hours sleep on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  PAY RATE is $40 - $45 per hour plus $70 sleepover allowance.

The successful applicant will be a team players, honest, trustworthy and experienced in providing personal cares and will have a genuine interest in supporting people with complex support needs.

Primary Duties include

Personal care assistance

General housework and cleaning

Basic cooking and meal preparation

Community Access Support

Implementing In-Home Therapy and Behaviour Support Programmes

Liaising with other professionals

Light gardening duties

The successful candidates will possess

• A WILLINGNESS TO ADHERE TO ALL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
• An understanding of AUTISM and it's effects
• Experience in providing personal cares
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• An understanding of non-verbal communication and the appropriate, respectful responses (knowledge of Makaton sign language seen as an advantage).
• Ability to cope appropriately with challenging client behaviour and to respond in accordance with the Behaviour Support Plan.
• Ability to work productively alone and in a team.
• Ability to follow directions, report clearly and effectively and implement care plans.
• Knowledge and understanding of workplace health and safely.
• A current unrestricted driver's license with good/safe driving history.
• A current national police check or willingness to allow for one to be obtained.
• A current first aid certificate or willingness to obtain.

Initially, up to 3 or more buddy shifts are provided to ensure new staff members are comfortable and confident in their ability to provide the higheststandard of care and support to our client.
