About the role
As our Field and Quality Technician within the Operations team, you will be engaging with internal and external stakeholders to drive installation training, quality and compliance out in the field. Additionally, this role will see you completing installations as required, working closely with the development engineering team to deliver projects on time. In this newly created role, you will a critical member of our operations team, assisting our customers across different states.

Our Operations team plays a pivotal role in shaping Directed Technologies’ success. This innovative team is responsible for enabling the timely delivery of projects and BAU (business as usual) services. Working within a dynamic environment, the Operations team collaborates with Sales, Development, Production and Service teams to deliver outstanding service to our customers globally.
How you will make an impact
As our Field and Quality Technician some of your responsibilities will include to:
- Deliver installation and repair training to Directed field installers and Directed Customers Service Partners, with training to be delivered via multiple methods; face to face (on-site/designated facility), MS Teams etc.
- Write post training reports and conduct post training follow-up.
- Monitor field installer feedback, communicating issues back to internal stakeholders.
- Drive field installers to ensure systems and operational compliance.
- Conduct onsite quality audits, providing feedback to Directed installers and Customer Service partners
- Scheduling of services, quality audits and training.
The successful candidate
Our ideal candidate for this Field and Quality Technician role will have the following experience:
- Experience in a telematics, auto electrician or telecommunications service role.
- Field installation experience, travelling to sites and effectively maintaining communicating with different stakeholders.
- Delivering onsite training, completing training reports and providing feedback to a variety of stakeholders.
- A customer focus with strong communication and engagement skills.
- A proven understanding of quality principles and workmanship, demonstrating adherence to compliance requirements.
- The ability to travel across the state and interstate as needed, with your own transport and valid diver’s license.
