Are you a passionate horticulturalist with leadership skills and have a love for Cairns’s Botanic Gardens?
We’re seeking an experienced and motivated individual with a strong horticultural background to take on the role of Field Leader for our Botanic Gardens Operations.
Primary Objectives:
- The Field Leader’s primary objective is to ensure their Botanic Gardens Precinct area is maintained and detailed to an industry standard appropriate to a high-profile Botanic Garden as efficiently and effectively as possible within given budgetary constraints.
- Organise and direct field operations for the precinct.
- Undertake precinct maintenance inspections.
- Maintain high levels of electronic and paper-based record keeping.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Strong background in horticulture, with experience in maintaining Botanic Gardens or similar environments.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, ensuring high performance and job satisfaction.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Ability to communicate clearly with team members, the public, and other Council departments.
