About The Role
Development Services branch facilitates sustainable development outcomes for the liveability and prosperity of the Sunshine Coast region. We provide customer focused development assessment services including advice and advocacy in the areas of planning, engineering, environment, landscape, building, plumbing and legislative compliance.
The Team Leader – Business Operations and Support is responsible for providing leadership to a multi-skilled team to support the delivery of business functions across the Branch with a focus on day to day operational and business requirements.
- Maintain the operational and strategic direction for current and future service delivery opportunities, with a focus on improving the efficiency of the Branch through use of contemporary business methodologies and practices.
- Provide professional support, advice and assistance in relation to business issues, initiatives, and proposals to contribute to the achievement of the goals and objectives of the branch.
- Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of the Branch’s priorities and deliverables, including business planning and reporting, stakeholder engagement and coordination functions.
- Contribute to reviewing appraisals of business processes and management systems used in development services, including making decisions, conducting high-level negotiations, solving problems and resolving conflicts.
About You
As a Team Leader, you will have demonstrated knowledge and experience in successfully working with senior leadership to effectively lead and manage administrative and business support, business improvement, business and operational planning, and stakeholder management.
You will have highly developed interpersonal and communication skills to effectively partner with internal and external stakeholders.
You will have substantial knowledge and experience working with the legislation, regulations, standards, policies, planning schemes and relevant state government codes that apply to development assessment functions.
As a requirement of this role, you will possess recognised tertiary qualification/accreditation in business management, or other relevant disciplines and/or equivalent workplace experience in development assessment functions.
