The day to day The Sampler / Field Technician is responsible for Sampling of client's sites in accordance with all requirements, including on-site field analysis. You will provide a quality service with optimising turnaround times whilst ensuring the highest protocol in achieved and maintained. Understanding methodology changes that affect the operations of sampling. Ensuring the sampling vehicle provided is kept in accordance with the ALS Motor Vehicle Policy and Field Equipment is maintained and stored correctly within the vehicle. Maintaining excellent client relations, adhering to set scheduling but also having the ability to be flexible at the client’s request should the clients’ requests alter. Maintain a professional personal appearance at all times and display the use of all field equipment in accordance with the quality requirements of ALS. Prioritizing of samples upon arrival to the laboratory. Providing a sample pick-up and delivery service to clients when necessary. Investigate options that increase productivity and efficiency through equipment upgrading or new equipment. Delivery of all samples to Sample Receipt in a timely and organized manner in accompaniment of an accurate Chain of Custody (COC). Maintain equipment used for conducting analyses, including cleaning and calibration. Excellent Problem-solving abilities. Driving to and from client sites Travelling to and from client sites, possibly staying overnight, and possibly travelling interstate. The Essentials The ideal candidate will possess the following: Relevant experience in the environmental industry. An appropriate level of customer service. Excellent organisational skills. Excellent communication skills, written and oral. Demonstrated attention to detail. Work independently and as a team. Excellent quality service approach and attitude. Solves basic problems / Lateral thinker. Negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Ability to spend long periods driving. Ability to travel for short periods as required Ability to work flexible hours Comfortable and capable of working in the field and outdoors. Confidence in working around water and ability to swim.
