Field Sampling Officer - (Part-time)

About the Company:
Our Client provides specialist environmental, water and waste management for infrastructure, resources, and private sectors. Their team currently has a vacancy for a Field Sampling Officer for an 11-month contract based 10km from Ipswich.  
The Role:
Field Sampling Officer - This role can be flexible for the right candidate! If you are recent graduate or require to do school drop off and pick up and would work the 22.8hours over 4 days we would like to hear from you too!
This is a part time role, minimum 3 days a week (Monday- Wednesday), 22.8hours per week.

• Successful candidate must be willing to undergo pre-employment medicals, hold a current drivers license, ability to obtain required vaccinations against Hep A, B and Tetanus and ability to acquire a white card.

Duties:

• Driving to sites around Brisbane’s Western and Southern suburbs to collect water samples
• Use of computer software to process laboratory analytical data, labelling and provide inputs to the laboratory data system
• Work autonomously or as part of a professional team to deliver timely quality outputs to customers
• Onsite Testing (Monthly Microbiology, Daily pH)
• Report any malfunction of equipment to the Supervisor
• Undertake any other duties as are reasonably within the limits of the employee's skills, competence and training

Skills & Experience:
To be considered for this position, applicants MUST have/be:

• Diploma or tertiary level qualifications in Science and/or Laboratory Techniques or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a similar position desirable but not mandatory (graduates also welcome to apply).
• Skills in water quality testing (such as total coliforms, pH, conductivity and turbidity) desirable.
• Skills in Field Sampling, monitoring and assessment;
• Your own reliable vehicle and current manual drivers license;
• Excellent communication skills (both written and oral);
• The ability to commence work immediately
• The ability to commit to early morning starts
• Successful candidate must be willing to undergo pre-employment medicals, ability to obtain required vaccinations and ability to acquire a white card.
