Based at our Singleton branch, the Workshop Leading Hand is responsible for repairing Coates hire equipment and machinery on customer sites.
Your typical day will focus on
• Diagnose & repair mechanical faults across various equipment workshop - work on large earthmoving generators, lighting plants, and boom lifts.
• Lead and supervise a team of Workshop Mechanics, providing guidance, support, and direction to ensure the smooth operation of the workshop.
• Provide technical expertise and assistance to mechanics, particularly in diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical faults in various on-site equipment.
• Coordinate the workshop's daily activities, including scheduling repairs, allocating resources, and maintaining stock levels of spare parts.
• Uphold and enforce safety protocols and regulations, ensuring that all repair and maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with site-specific protocols and safety regulations.
About you
• Work hours from 7:00 AM till 3:06 PM, with a willingness to work overtime as required to meet customer demands.
• Relevant Trade qualifications
• Experience with petrol and diesel motors, hydraulics pneumatics and basic electrical skills
• Effective time management and attention to detail
• Supervisor experience in a busy workshop environment
• Troubleshooting, diagnostic, and preventative maintenance skills
