Our client based in the South East and are an Industry leader who specialise in the mechanical repair and major inspection of truck mounted EWP's, Crane borers, Vehicle loading cranes, Carrier trucks, Scissor lifts and associated equipment used in the Electricity, Gas, Rail, Telecommunication Industries.
Due to growth they are currently recruiting for a Field Service Tech to join their team. The purpose of your role is to support clients rental assets and customer owned equipment in the field and Customer Locations.
What's in it for you?
- 7:30 - 4pm Monday to Friday
- Potential for Overtime on Saturdays 6am - 12noon
- Progression to move into other roles within the business
- $36- $40 per hour + Overtime
Key Duties:
- With support of the service coordinator, monitor and undertake repairs and servicing to all allocated tasks.
- Liaise with the customer or service coordinator on matters required for the effective coordination of preventative maintenance & repair of equipment in the field
- Promptly attend breakdowns which include afterhours call outs
- Efficiently plan, schedule and execute routine preventative maintenance including communication with customers to confirm bookings
- Efficiently manage all allocated work schedules & tasks
- Complete in full, routine inspections, servicing & repairs, including ordering of parts required in consultation with the parts department and when necessary the workshop
- Regularly report progress on each job and quickly communicate delays or concerns with the customer, service coordinator and Field Service Supervisor or Workshop Manager
- Report on labour and parts overruns or shortfalls
- Maintain parts levels in technician van stock as well as at on site inventory
- Professionally engage with customers to build long lasting & high quality relationships
To be successful:
- Hydraulic experience is extremely important and auto electrical experience is highly regarded
- Certificate 3 in mobile plant technology or Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology
- Light vehicle driver license (manual transmission)
- Forklift license , High risk EWP / Scissor lift license and Truck license
- Working autonomously as well as under instruction
- Organized and able to meet deadlines
- Display a positive attitude and be an active member of the team
- Physically fit and able, light / moderate lifting is required
