We are looking for an enthusiastic self-starter to work in our Adelaide Branch. The purpose of the job is to provide installation, maintenance and support of Kalmar mobile equipment and other hydraulic mechanical equipment.
The role provides the opportunity to deliver mobile Field Service assistance to our customers with a fully equipped service vehicle.
What you will be doing:
- Maintain and repair the latest cargo handling heavy equipment at various customer sites including:
- Planned maintenance
- Conducting repairs on breakdown
- After hours call outs on a rotating roster
- Fault finding and diagnosing.
- Contributing to effective OH&S practices
- Actively builds good customer relationships by professional behavior and customer-minded interaction
- Actively builds profitable Kalmar service business in the country by well planning work days and providing service at high quality and on time to customers
- Prepares well for service jobs: service history, parts, customer address and contact etc.
- Executes daily service jobs, properly signing in and out at the customer’s, securing the equipment for: repairs, preventive maintenance, warranty, inspections, refurbishments etc.
- Leaves the customer site having cleaned the workplace, reviewed the work done with the customer, checked for additional service opportunities, service report sent and properly signing out with the customer contact
- Continuously learns about new Kalmar equipment
- Reports service work (during the day, at the end of each job)
- Reports work time (daily)
- Provides sales leads on other opportunities at the customer site
- Keeps service vehicle clean contents of stock up to date
- Close cooperation with customer service contact / supervisors
- Other duties as requested by your manager
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Mechanical or Auto Electrical trade qualification e.g. diesel mechanic, mobile plant fitter, commercial marine mechanic, auto electrician.
- Minimum year 10 high school
- Australian recognized trade certification
- Post apprenticeship experience preferred
- Experience using email and ICT
- Industrial/commercial heavy equipment background
- ECU / PLC experience / exposure advantageous
- Ability to plan efficient service execution
- Able to work autonomously
- Proactive with a can do attitude
- Self-starter

- Good customer communication, structured, service minded, customer-oriented
- Literacy in English language written and oral
- In depth-knowledge of Heavy vehicle mechanical maintenance is essential

Licenses (preferred)
- Disconnect Reconnect restricted electrical license
- Forklift operator’s license
- Elevated work platform license
