Overview:
The Field Service Technician's main role will be to undertake repairs and maintain equipment such as elevating work platforms, telescopic handlers, skid steers and forklifts. The requirement will be to work on DC electrical systems, hydraulic systems as well as mechanical equipment such as engines, motors and production machine equipment by performing the duties listed below.
Main responsibilities:
Undertake repairs, diagnostic troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on equipment such as telescopic handlers, elevating work platforms, rough terrain / industrial forklifts and skid/track / articulated loaders whilst in the field.
Effectively complete repairs and preventative maintenance to OEM standards
Carryout diagnostic analysis, mechanical and technical repairs as directed on all variations of mobile equipment
Conduct training for Operators on the correct method of operation and daily check maintenance of the new and hire fleet machine on site
Carry out inspections for quotation on site
Any other technical related aspects as and when required
Ensure onsite safety principles and standards are always adhered to
Carryout tasks in a safe and efficient manner
The Person:
Previous experience in a similar role in an associated industry - Machinery: Telescopic Handlers, Forklifts, Tractors, earthmoving equipment etc. - desirable.
Strong work ethic and self-motivation.
Well-developed mechanical and electrical aptitude.
Proven time management skills with the ability to work independently.
Advanced oral and written communication skills.

Education, qualifications, work experience & licenses
Trade certificate in heavy vehicles, plant, motor mechanic or equivalent
Demonstrated at least 2 - 3 years' experience repairing heavy machinery (mechanical 80%, electrical 20%)
Experience and knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems
Experience and knowledge of fault diagnostics and software
Knowledge of health and safety policies and procedures, including hazard identification and risk assessment training
Current Drivers Licence - essential
Forklift Licence - desirable
Current EWP High Risk Licence an advantage
Telehandler Gold Card an advantage
