About the Role
ALS Environmental has a unique opportunity for a Full-time Field Technician to join our Chinchilla based team.  Roster is a 2 and 2 FIFO from Chinchilla This position is an important Field Technician role working to support prestigious CSG Clients and requires a highly motivated individual with an eagerness to learn.  In return, we will invest immediately and extensively in your formal and on the job development providing training access to First aid and defensive 4wd driving courses and expansive on the job training on our testing methods, sample protocols and reporting format for our Clients.
 
The day to day
The successful applicant will be responsible for completing field sampling services within the Surat, Bowen Basin & Roma regions. Primary tasks will include:
  • Driving light vehicles with various specialised field monitoring equipment
  • Inputting important information to various data platforms
  • Monitoring and maintaining equipment (both hardware and software)
  • Maintaining and building on relationships with Land Access supervisors, Field Superintendents and Area Owners
  • Complying with specific Land Access Rules
  • CSG water and gas sampling
Secondary tasks will include but are not limited to:
  • Potable water sampling
  • Environmental sampling
  • Permit creation and management
  • Identifying opportunities with our Client Services team to expand or improve our Client services and scope where applicable from your on the ground observations and insights.
About you
To be successful, you will have:
  • A current manual driver’s license
  • Field experience in the CSG Industry is essential
  • Industry Safety Induction for the CSG Industry or equivalent essential
  • Personal/Mechanical Isolation experience desired but not essential
  • Experience in work permit creation and management is essential
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good written and verbal ability, and rapport building strength to nurture strong relationships with clients
  • Good organisational skills
  • Local knowledge of the Darling Downs, Surat and Bowen Basin regions is desired but not essential
  • A ‘can do’ attitude
  
The successful applicant will be provided extensive training and orientation.
