Based in Chinchilla Queensland Tango Oilfield Solutions provides equipment and services to the local Australia Energy and Mining Industries. Tango is a small family owned company started in 2013. However, the directors have international experience and global reach. Due to increased activity we are now looking to add a new full time position as a Mechanical Technician.
About the role
A Full Time Position based in Chinchilla QLD the Mechanical Technician is responsible for general inspection and quality control of Tango Equipment, Facilities, and Plant. The candidate must have experience in performing preventive/predictive maintenance and testing on mechanical equipment and systems related to the energy or oil/gas industry such as engines, pumps, and rolling plant. This may include hydraulic controls, pipe testing, and basic fabrication repairs.
Duties and Responsibilities
MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT INSPECTION & REPAIR:
- Ensure mechanical systems and equipment are inspected, documented, and conforms to Tango's Quality Systems when returned and prior to going out on hire.
- Perform basic maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment. This may include preventative or failure maintenance.
- Troubleshooting and repairing of engine or mechanical problems or defects.
- Basic minor welding or fabrication repairs as required.
EQUIPMENT REPORTING AND DOCUMENT CONTROL:
- Maintain accurate record of OEM documentation (COC, Mat Certs), Inspections, and repairs/ modifications. Review and prepare reports and documentation as required to comply with Tango's and industry accepted quality management system (ISO 9001).
- Ensure proper procedures are followed during maintenance in line with Tango Policies and OEM recommended practices.
OTHER DUTIES:
- Assisting engineers or other mechanics with the assembly and commissioning of new equipment or mechanical/hydraulic systems.
- Fielding phone calls or email inquiries related equipment maintenance or failures in the field. Performing ad-hoc field troubleshooting or repairs as required.
- When required perform, assist, or supervise in the preparation or testing of equipment post or pre-hire.
- Occasional face to face or phone interactions with clients or inspection or QA of clients equipment as required

The exact compensation is commensurate with experience however the base package will include:

Skills and experience
The ideal candidate would have the experience as laid out below however we are open to training high potential individuals who have a demonstrated track record and are willing to learn.
- Either local resident or willingness to relocate to Chinchilla QLD. We want our people to be part of the local community.
- General knowledge and experience working in the Oil & Gas Industry on Pumps, Compressors, Engines, and Specialty Equipment (e.g.; Cementing)
- Basic industry inductions and or safety trainings.
- Basic computer literacy in most MS Programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Commitment to detail
- Good communication skills
- Team players. We work as a team and you will need to directly supervisor and work with other people.

- Expected salary: $75,000 - $80,000 per year
