About the Division:
The Regional Operations division leads the coordination of finance, operations and emergency management across the South West Victoria region and plays a key role in championing the department's overarching corporate governance, reporting and continuous improvement framework.
Finance Adviser - Ongoing Full time
The Finance Adviser role supports the regional budget management process, workforce management, undertakes key financial, administrative, compliance and reporting tasks in line with the department's policy. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the role will provide high quality services, support regional staff and engage collaboratively with areas and divisions to ensure the integrity and efficiency of financial processes. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Supporting month end, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Utilising available systems to extract, analyse and present data.
- Reviewing expenditure against budgets, liaise with stakeholders in identifying and rectifying any costing anomalies.
- Supporting financial governance processes, including the establishment and de-establishment of schools.
- Supporting workforce management through HR position management, initiating change requests, data analysis and reporting.
- Supporting region wide financial compliance, ensuring available tools and systems meet the needs of stakeholders, adjusting as required.
- Maintaining best practice financial management across all aspects of the business.

Desirable:
Experience working in a finance role and/or tertiary qualification in relevant disciplines such as business, finance or similar.
Sound working knowledge of ERP systems, MS Office including Intermediate to Advanced Excel.
