About the role
The Finance Operations division provides a key foundation to ensuring sound financial decision making by AEMO leadership and is critical to AEMO maintaining strong support from stakeholders for its mission by ensuring the robustness of information underpinning revenue, cost management and funding requests.
The Finance Analyst will contribute to the overall financial reporting & governance of AEMO. They will also play a key role in data modelling, analysis & reporting to support Financial Reporting & Analysis. This role will be responsible for supporting with continuous improvement through creating process consistency and the maintenance of process and procedure documentation in relation to reporting.
This role is a 12month Fixed Term Contract
What you will be doing
- Create insightful analysis involving financial modelling to deliver on critical success factors & KPIs
- Consolidation of reporting, preparing timely & accurate monthly reporting packs including analysis of finance performance against budget
- Continuous improvement of reports and processes to ensure financial reports are accurate and feasible
- Assist with reporting on Power BI, manage & prioritise requests, and fix bugs
What you will bring to the role
- Proven experience as a Data or Business Analyst
- Demonstrated experience in analysing data, creating insights, reporting and data modelling
- Proficient in the use of excel modelling & DAX queries
- Experience working with complex data sets, databases, and spreadsheets
- Proven experience with BI and SQL will be highly regarded
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into practical insights for nontechnical stakeholders
- Experience in Finance advantageous
