CBA’s Technology team are helping build tomorrow’s bank today for our customers.  Cloud technologies are a strategic enabler and CBA’s Cloud Enablement and Engineering team are looking for Cloud Risk Analyst with Cloud risk and governance area to play a crucial role in ensuring the security and compliance of our cloud infrastructure, particularly focusing on AWS.

As a Staff Systems Engineer, you will be senior contributor within the Database crew responsible for the safe, sound and secure delivery and operation of Database services hosted within our on-premise data centres and in Public Cloud. The Staff Engineer is required to influence, engineer, design, build and run world class products and services. 

We’re Interested in hearing from people who   

• Collaborate with platform engineering squads to enhance system reliability, performance, and scalability through the implementation of DevOps & SRE type practices. 

• Design, implement, and maintain automation software to continuously integrate, deploy, monitor, and respond to incidents, ensuring high availability and optimal performance. 

• Develop and implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions using differing tools and software, ensuring consistent and reproducible infrastructure deployments. 

• Implement monitoring and logging solutions to proactively identify and address potential issues, optimizing platform performance and reliability. 

• Collaborate with security teams to integrate security best practices into the CI/CD pipelines, platform, and applications. 

Good to have experience in domains such as:  

• Technology start-ups. 

• Financial sector. 

• Software and cloud service providers. 

• Systems Integrators, and service providers. 

• Telecommunications. 

• Large complex environments and businesses, from a people, processes and technology aspect. 

Tech skills  

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team;  

• Oracle database management 

• MS SQL database management 

• Aurora PostgreSQL 

• MongoDB 

• Database development 

• Linux 

• Windows 

• AWS foundation services (EC2, Lambda, Cloudformation, System Manager, RDS)  

• Automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform. 

• Source control, and CI/CD tooling such as TeamCity, GitHub, GitHub actions and Jenkins. 

• Infrastructure as code pipelines and automation. 

• Observability with Grafana and Prometheus.
