Independent Member of our
Finance and Audit Committee which is a committee to of the LHG Board. The committees primary responsibilities include:
- Reviewing the annual financial statements to ensure that they present fairly the state of affairs of LHG.
- Reviewing the adequacy of the accounting, internal control, reporting and other financial management systems and processes of LHG.
- Regularly reviewing all of LHG’s financial policies.
- Approve the appointment of and oversee the performance of any external auditor appointed by LHG.
- Review LHGs annual business plan and supporting budget, assumption and key financial indicators.
- Annually review LHGs capital expenditure and property development budget and associated capital funding plan.
- Monitor LHG’s responsiveness to recommendations for improvements based on previous audits.
This committee meets approximately 4 to 5 times a year. Independent members play a crucial role in governance, and therefore, these positions are paid on a per meeting basis. Personal capabilitiesThe successful candidate for this position will have:
- Proven experience as an accountant, preferably as a Partner in a mid or large firm or as a CFO of a large enterprise.
- Strong background in Finance and accounting to review financial statements, budgets, and financial policies.
- Ability to critically assess financial controls, management systems, and processes.
- Familiarity with audit procedures and the ability to evaluate the performance of external auditors.
- Background in Property, Property Development, and Aged Care / Health Care sectors is highly desirable.
