Pohlmans Nursery is located in the beautiful Lockyer Valley region west of Brisbane. We are the largest wholesale nursery on the Eastern Seaboard with operations spread across our 175 acre site. Pohlmans Nursery is family owned and operated and has been since its inception back in 1976 by Val & John Pohlman.
The Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a data-driven, experienced Finance Assistant to join our small, but dedicated Finance team. This role requires a proactive and adaptable individual who can hit the ground running. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial and administrative support to the Finance Manager.
Initially commencing as Finance Assistant assigned to Accounts Receivable, the role will include cross-training in Accounts Payable and ultimately result in a shared workload between both AR & AP.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage incoming calls and queries
- Follow established procedures for processing payments
- Research & resolve payment discrepancies
- Monitor customer accounts for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities
- Monthly reconciliation of customer accounts
- Review AR aging to ensure compliance
- Create and maintain customer account files and records
- Preparation of banking and bank account reconciliations
- Support for accounts payable as required
- Purchase and inventory control
- General administration tasks as required
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent data entry skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong time management skills
- Previous accounts/finance experience
- Experience with Business Central highly desirable but not essential
- Willingness to learn a variety of roles and processes
