They are currently seeking a Finance Business Partner for their Brisbane office. Managing a team of 5, this is an important part of the operational and trust finance function working closely with the Financial Controller and senior operational management to ensure the organisation achieves the outcomes required on behalf of investors.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Work with key Customers and Suppliers to ensure contract compliance;
- Provide financial, costing and analytics in support of understanding and improving profitability;
- Analyse variances from the budget and report significant issues and proposed remedies to management;
- Prepare reports on routine financial and operating metrics to the management team;
- Work with the Project Team to optimise the MS Dynamics 365 ERP system across the business with the aim of improving reporting, reducing reporting timelines, systemising/automating the current manual systems that underpin the monthly process.
- Prepare and monitor annual budget and forecasts supported by detailed assumption and scenario workings and commentary;
- Report monthly financial operating performance with commentary to business management;
- Report monthly financial consolidated trust group performance with commentary to business management with specific focus on distributions and unit price calculations
- Review and report on completion of balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis;
- Review and analyse complete financial statements;
- Manage cash flow and monitor budgets to ensure fiscal responsibility;
- Review and monitor transactions related to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable;
- Review periodic reconciliations of all supplier and receivable accounts to ensure their accuracy;
- Maintain and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and procedures;
- Assist and/or manage outsourced functions such as audits, tax, and insurance;
- Support the Asset Manager with commercial analysis to drive cost efficiencies and revenue maximisation opportunities;
- Work closely with the Asset Manager for any other business requirements;
- Other duties as directed by the Financial Controller or CFO.
To be successful in this role you will bring the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience essential;
- CA / CPA qualified
- Minimum of 7 years senior accounting experience;
- Experience with financial reporting for livestock/farming operations will be highly regarded;
- Experience with inventory management and production cost accounting in an agribusiness environment;
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with ERP systems (MS Dynamics 365, Power BI reporting)
- Demonstrated ability to work at the strategic and operational levels and apply technical accounting knowledge;
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to engage in commercial discussions with stakeholders
- Ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders and manage custodial relationships;
- Highly developed analytical and report writing skills;
- Ability to use sound judgement in decision making and take accountability for business outcomes;
- Excellent attention to detail and demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and organise work demands and meet tight deadlines; and
- Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of safe work practices.
