THE ROLE
The Finance Manager plays a critical role supporting the Business Manager in financial oversight of College activities, and in the development and implementation of processes underpinned by internal controls that minimise risk, deliver efficiencies and add value.
The Finance Manager will have responsibilities in the areas of Financial Management, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. This role requires someone who can work with minimal supervision and has highly established organisational and time management skills. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Key Responsibilities:
Finance
- Preparation of the monthly financial accounts including end of month journals, variance analysis and reconciliations.
- Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register, capital work in progress and depreciation.
- Assist with year-end accounts including preparation of audit working papers and responding to requests for information.
- Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Assist staff in managing department budgets, including the development of department financial reports.
- Preparation and monitoring of cash flows
- Preparation and submission of quarterly Business Activity Statement.
Accounts Payable
- Oversee the Accounts Payable function to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices.
- Oversee credit card controls and reconciliation processes.
- Embed the Purchase Order system within processes to enhance controls and streamline processes.
- Train and be a point of contact for staff in purchasing processes.
Accounts Receivable
- Oversee the Accounts Receivable function including the issuing of invoices and statements, and processing of payments.
- Monitor debtor ageing and prepare related reports.
- Oversee collection recovery protocols.
Other
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of workflows, processes and efficiencies
- Respond to staff queries in a professional, timely and courteous manner
- Participate in collaborative planning activities and other meetings or activities relevant to the position
- Other tasks assigned by the Business Manager
QUALIFICATIONS
- Appropriate qualifications in accounting and/or business management
- CPA or equivalent desirable but not essential
- Current or willingness to obtain;
- Working with Children Check
- National Coordinated Criminal History Check
EXPERIENCE
- Sound knowledge and experience of accounting practices, procedures and processes in a medium to large organisation
- Experience preparing month end financial reports and reconciliations
- Experience using Synergetic highly desirable but not essential

- High level of computer literacy including proficiency in computerised accounting systems, Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
REMUNERATION
Terms and Conditions of employment will be in accordance with the Anglican Schools Commission Inc. NSW Enterprise Agreement 2023. Remuneration will be determined by the Principal according to qualifications and experience.
Reasonable additional hours may be required dependant on College needs.
