FINANCE MANAGER – FULL TIME
(12-Months, with a possibility of extension)
The Dieri Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (TDAC) is looking for a Finance Manager with extensive Financial skills and experience to ensure the Corporation can deliver outcomes. The role will support the effectiveness of the CEO’s office, and as such will interact with the TDAC Board, Members and External Parties by using initiative and resourcefulness to undertake a wide variety of high-level functions and tasks associated with strategic leadership.
SCOPE:
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (or their delegate), the Finance Manager role provides high level Financial services to the CEO.
THE FINANCE MANAGER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Working closely with the Accountant and suppliers regarding payments of invoices and financial matters.
- Working closely with TDAC bank providers.
- Working closely with the TDAC Finance & Budget Sub-committee and at times the Investment Sub-committee.
- Liaising with Auditors to ensure accuracy of accounts, statutory compliance, and sound financial management practices for the organisation.
- Working with the Office Manager and CEO regarding Internal Audit processes which includes policy payments and compliance with ORIC and operational standards/regulations.
- Managing accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, including raising and processing invoices.
- Implementing and development of accounting polices and procedures in line with best practice.
- Following up any outstanding Invoices/ Overpayments.
- Oversee the Payroll process to ensure that it is compliant with PAYG, Superannuation.
- Responsible for the taxation obligations of the organisation/external clients by ensuring they are lodged in a timely manner (PAYG, GST, FBT).
- Managing Policy Payments and Approvals.
- Approving Operational Invoices within delegations.
- Supporting the organisation to ensure that general ledger balances have integrity and represent transactions that are complete and accurate.
- General ledger reconciliations by ensuring they are completed in a timely manner and providing assistance as required to prepare these reconciliations.
- Manage and oversee the month-end procedures including, General Ledger reconciliation, roll-overs, journals, fixed asset accounting, cash management and completion of bank reconciliation functions.
- Managing accurate and consistent preparation of budget development and forecasting, identification, and evaluation of budget issues.
- Developing and implementing agreed innovative and appropriate solutions, for Corporations Budgets.
- Working closely with CEO with preparation of budget forecasts.
- Aquitials of monies received from third parties in line with agreements.
- Working with the Implementation Officer to provide Budget Estimates and Acutals for third party works.
- Providing Monthly Financial Reports to the CEO and the TDAC Board of Directors.
- Milestone payments and reporting on financial progress of projects including third party, CEO and Board reporting.
- Calculating and processing payments for TA & Mileage for TDAC board of Directors and TDAC Staff.
- Responsible for hiring and training Finance Officer.
- Any other tasks as delegated by the CEO.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting
- Knowledge and understanding of Financial Compliance
- Minimum 7 years’ experience as an Accountant/Team Leader post-qualification.
- Strong knowledge of Accounting Standards.
- Demonstrated highly developed communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain relationships with a broad range of people, and to anticipate needs and act upon them proactively.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent organisational and multi-tasking abilities.
- Exceptional communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Office Software and Systems (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Scheduling software, etc.).
- Knowledge and experience using Accounting Software (Xero)
- Experience working in a not for profit organisation.
DESIRABLE:
- Experience working with Aboriginal people and Communities (preferred)
- Must have a current Drivers Licence
- National Police Clearance Check is required
