The Opportunity
Reporting to the Finance & IT Manager the Finance Manager will be pivotal in managing the company's financial health, ensuring accurate cash flow forecasting, financial reporting, and compliance with reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, proficiency in Oracle NetSuite and Microsoft Excel, and a keen eye for detail. This position requires collaboration with management, external accountants, and various departments to support the company's financial operations and strategic goals.
This is an permanent full-time role, based in our head office in Arndell Park.
Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Daily update and analysis of the Cash Flow Forecast to guide spending decisions and manage the company's cash position.
- Creation and review of financial reports, comparing current data with previous periods to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Ensure timely and accurate lodgment and payment of BAS and other reporting requirements.
- Collaborate closely with management and external accountants as needed.
- Hands-on work with the accounts team to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and on time, with no outstanding transactions in NetSuite.
- Manage company assets and liabilities, ensuring accurate valuation and recording of changes.
- Process supplier bill payments, including creation, entry, and management approval.
- Utilize Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Excel, and other financial software for data analysis and manipulation.
- Record intercompany transactions and generate consolidated reports for the group.
- Assist in budget preparation and monitor actual performance against budgeted forecasts.
- Support in researching and acquiring funding for business support.
- Work with other departments to ensure financial processes support business operations.
- Identify and present potential issues and process improvements to management.
- Develop saved searches and custom reports in NetSuite, and create Journal Entries as required.
- Train accounting/finance department staff on relevant financial processes and software.
- Stay informed about changes in Australian reporting requirements and ensure compliance.
Skills & Experience
- Very strong computer literacy, advanced Excel and NetSuite skills, competency with MS Office applications (Word, Outlook, Powerpoint)
- CPA or CA qualified
- Ability to understand financial data and how it affects the business as a whole.
- Ability to make effective financial decisions
- 5 + years experience in a finance/accounting role
