About the Role
The Finance Manager (HA/H1L) is an integral member of the Hockey Australia Finance Team. Reporting directly to the National Finance Manager and working collaboratively across the business, the FBP will get involved in all aspects of the business, partnering with managers/executives to deliver accurate budgeting, forecasting and reporting for analysis for key decision making. The role has one direct report and will play a key role in the career development of our junior Accountant.
The Candidate
To be successful in this role you will be a recently qualified CA/CPA. As this role will be working alongside senior managers, executives and Finance Committees you must be comfortable dealing with people and developing excellent relationships. Candidates coming from a Big 4 or audit background looking for their first leap into the sporting industry are also strongly suited and encouraged to apply.
Key Accountabilities
- Work closely with Managers & Executives to accurately prepare and monitor budgets, business plans and forecasts to aid in good decision making
- Day to day responsibility for Cashflow Management including preparation of rolling cashflow forecasts and analysis
- Preparation of monthly financial reporting including: Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cashflow forecast and Commentary
- Preparation of payroll, superannuation, BAS and payroll tax compliance
- Work with Managers & Executive to educate & empower them to have greater financial understanding of their department and the business
- Key role in year-end procedures, including preparation of all audit requirements, financial statements and liaison with external auditors
- Oversight of HA Accountant

Remuneration
Hockey Australia will offer a $115,000 - $125,000 remuneration package including superannuation dependent upon the successful applicant's skills and experience.
Experience, Skills and Attributes
- Undergraduate degree in Commerce/Business/Accounting or similar and CA/CPA Qualified
- 5+ years' experience as a finacial/managment accountant or auditor
- Experience with Xero accounting software preferred but not essential
- Very strong attention to detail
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills gained from previous work experience or community involvement.
- Able to build and maintain collaborative relationships with staff members across all departments and external stakeholders
- A keen interest in the sporting industry
- National Police / Criminal History Check
- Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check
- Drivers Licence
