Laurus Education is a education management company, overseeing the work of multiple colleges.
We are seeking a qualified, experienced and motivated Finance Manager to join our finance team to maintain our accounting finance and organisational obligations. This full-time role reports directly to the CFO.
Tasks included
- Manage daily finance operations, including accounts payable, receivable and accounting enquiry team.
- Work closely with the AP and AR teams to assess current processes and identify areas for improvement;
- Identify and lead continuous process improvements across invoice/payment automation in these functions
- Prepare the taxation related activities, including but not limited to GST, BAS and Payroll tax.
- Provide support to operational team in the professional and accurate processing of accounting information and reporting requirements;
- Accurate preparation of commission invoices on a monthly and adhoc basis
- Reconciling and processing accurate payments to suppliers and other related parties
- Pays invoices by verifying transaction information; scheduling and preparing disbursements and obtaining authorization of payment.
- Assist in financial statement, management of budgeting, forecasting and expense trackers
- Process end to end payroll and human resource related responsibilities & payroll system management.
- Resolves account discrepancies by investigating & liaising with suppliers, agents and internal staff regarding invoice queries and contract tracking and bonus program.
- Developing and recommending broad financial policies and monitoring the integrity of all financial matters to establish a best practice environment.
- Ensure efficient, timely and accurate payment processing and management of all invoices relating to supplier, and agent commission invoices.
- Manage month end processes and general ledger reconciliations.
- Support CFO as required
- Support ad hoc project for CFO
Experience and requirement
- Previous management experience across Overall high performance finance team or corporate shared services
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Commerce
- Either CA or CPA qualified or working towards CA or CPA qualification preferred
- Demonstrated successful experience in implementing process improvements in AR and AP.
- Team Leadership and coaching experience
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills
- Previous industry experience in RTO education sector highly regarded
- Commercial acumen
- Strong problem solving and decision making skills
- Advanced computer skills
- 5+ years of mid-senior finance level experience.
