About the RoleCMET is currently looking for an experienced and capable Finance Manager. This part-time role is responsible for developing and executing business support strategies in conjunction with key stakeholders to facilitate the ongoing delivery of all aspects of operations and maintenance, focusing particularly on the overarching delivery of financial company reporting requirements.
What You Will Be Doing- Oversee accounting, budgeting, and payroll functions.
- Manage continuous improvement of financial reporting and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and statutory authorities (e.g., ASIC, payroll).
- Prepare monthly operational and board reports.
- Manage contract, commercial, and financial risk; ensure accurate forecasting of costs and revenue.
- Develop plans and programs to align procedures with reporting objectives.
- Lead the monthly financial review process, liaising with Shareholders' Financial Representatives.
- Liaise with external accountants to prepare annual financial statements, audits, and tax returns. Develop commercial strategies and policies in partnership with senior management to achieve operational objectives.
- Implement improvement measures from investigations and operational experience.
- Manage the finance team to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery of outputs.
- Build and maintain productive, collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
- Holds a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Law, Commerce, Accounting, Business or relevant disciplines
- Has CPA certification (desirable)
- Has 5+ years of senior finance role experience, including leading and managing a finance team, and dealing with a Board of Directors
- Has experience in public transport, preferably rail/light rail (desirable)
- Has experience managing various contracts such as joint ventures (desirable)
- Has experience in an organisation with contractual, legal, commercial, industrial relations and legislative compliance
- Possesses advanced financial and commercial management skills, including cost reduction and meeting budgets
- Has strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
