ABOUT THE ROLE
This position plays an important role in managing and administering the organisation’s finances, budgets and payroll. The Office Manager is also responsible for the ongoing development and improvement of new and existing systems, processes and policies across the organisation. Reporting to the General Manager, the Office Manager supervises a small team of staff as well as maintaining relationships with external stakeholders including clients and suppliers in the mining industry.
CORE DUTIES
The core duties of this role include but are not limited to:
Staff Management and Development
- Direct supervision of, and delegation of tasks to the Finance and Administration team and third-party consultants, including I.T, Bank, Accountant, Legal & HR Support.
Financial Management
- Oversee all financial, accounting and payroll functions including compliance with PAYG, GST, BAS, and FBT requirements, oversee all financial transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, debtor management, cashflow management and forecasting.
- Support Directors and Management Team in the preparation of financial reports for projects, including profit and loss by project, budgets and forecasting. In consultation with the external Accountant, provide advice to Directors with respect to effective controls to safeguard the company’s financial position.
Systems and Operations
- On-going analysis and improvement in consultation with the management team to business systems, work-flow processes, policies and compliance, to advance the efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation as a whole, and to mitigate risk. This is inclusive of finance, admin, human resources, operations, workshop areas of the company.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience in accounts/bookkeeping/accounting required.
- Renumeration is based on experience and qualifications

- Committed to providing exceptional customer service and excellent attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all levels of the business.
- Strong computer literacy and competence (Word, Excel, Outlook, cloud based applications).
- Experience with MYOB Hosted or similar accounting package will be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated previous experience in a similar role for three years or more.
