Finance Officer

The Finance Officer works within a team of employees jointly responsible for ensuring the prudent and efficient administration of Council's financial and accounting services, including but not limited to budgeting, financial reporting, asset accounting and customer service.

This position also assists as needed in the delivery of Payroll, Creditors and Debtors functions, accounting records, project work and auditing requirements to support the financial services team.

The key accountabilities include:

• Assisting the Financial Planning Analyst in the preparation of Council's annual budget, business plan and quarterly budget review
• Prepare monthly management/financial reports
• Complete monthly BAS, annual FBT return and other statutory returns
• Undertake reconciliations

We are looking for someone with:

• A Certificate or Diploma in Accounting or related field and/or relevant experience in a similar role
• Demonstrated professional skills, knowledge and judgement relating to financial management and accounting. 

This position is full-time and entitled to a rostered day off each month.
