We’re on the hunt for an experienced and hands-on Senior Accountant to join our Sydney based team.
This role is a full-time 12 month fixed term opportunity.
Reporting into the Finance Manager, you will support them and the Finance team with post-acquisition integration of two businesses from finance point of view. You will optimise financial processes, whilst ensuring adherence to regulatory governance and compliance in a fast-paced environment for the Australian retail operations of a global business.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Guiding business transitions and navigating intricate accounting scenarios with finesse
- Crafting meticulous GL mapping files to streamline financial reporting processes
- Orchestrating seamless intercompany transactions, fostering synergy across organizational entities
- Meticulously preparing consolidated inter-company reconciliations to ensure coherence and accuracy
- Diligently conducting Balance Sheet reconciliations, swiftly identifying and rectifying discrepancies to uphold financial data integrity
- Expertly preparing ownership change documents for business services, ensuring compliance and smooth transitions
- Demonstrating a deep understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards, ensuring adherence to global accounting norms
- Versatility in tackling ad hoc tasks with agility and precision, contributing proactively to diverse financial initiatives
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in a Accounting or related discipline
- CA or CPA or currently completing your studies
- Sound knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards
- Demonstrated experience in mergers and acquisitions
- 5+ years of experience in the full range of financial accounting activities, a background in retail or fast-moving consumer goods preferred
- Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) or Business Central is highly desirable
- Exemplary attention to detail, consistently scrutinizing financial data and processes with a meticulous eye for precision.
