The Opportunity

We are looking for someone to join our amazing team on an initial 9-month contract to cover for Maternity Leave. This role is remote however you also have the opportunity to attend an office to connect with the team and colleagues.

Resolution Life is currently implementing a number of finance transformation initiatives to support wider business strategic initiatives. This couple with changing regulatory landscape and reporting deadlines, the Finance Operations Manager of Finance becomes a key role within finance to ensure all deadlines on regular functions and transformation projects can be met such that Resolution Life can continue to comply to regulatory and statutory requirements.

The role works closely with various project teams, senior finance leaders, area leads, and other subject matter experts to ensure that the finance deliverables are aligned with the objectives and targeted timelines.

The role also identifies and mitigates any deliverable risks and issues that may arise during the financial close and project lifecycle.

Your Story

  • Coordinate with subject matter experts to ensure all finance deliverables are completed on time with quality, including:
  • Internal audit
  • External audit
  • Regulatory returns
  • Group Office request (including ad-hocs)
  • Board request (including ad-hocs)
  • Manage key milestone to ensure on-time delivery, ensuring business readiness for various finance transformation initiatives:
  • IFRS17 strategic solutions
  • US GAAP ledger readiness
  • Project Relay Wave 1 and Wave 2
  • Direct Trust Model
  • Supporting RLA's finance control enhancement program
  • Identify and assess the deliverable risks and issues, and to support to develop and implement appropriate mitigation and resolution strategies.

Key Competencies required

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines in an agile environment
  • Work with structure but have the ability to juggle multiple activities in different completion states
  • Outcomes driven - must be focussed on meeting deadlines
  • Proactive - able to drive the outcomes with different business units
  • Collaborative and supportive to business and IT stakeholders to deliver to agreed dates
  • Communicative - able to provide clarity to business stakeholders
  • Strong relationship management skills - ability to manage external parties to timeframes
  • flexibility - willingness to focus on additional initiatives as they arise

Ideal experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field.
  • At least three years of experience in financial reporting cycle and financial accounting
  • Australian Life Insurance, banking and financial services industry experience essential
  • Experience in project management essential
  • Experience working with ERP, Finance platform implementations and operations highly desirable
  • Previous delivery of separation, merger and acquisition changes ideal but not essential
  • Worked in small project teams delivering enterprise-wide projects with IT changes
  • Worked with external regulators (such as APRA, ATO)
