Based in North Sydney, with a hybrid work environment we currently have a position available in the organisation for a Financial Accountant. Reporting to the Head of Commerical Finance, the Financial Accountant role will be responsible for effective financial reporting, enhancing data integrity, and optimizing transactional efficiency.
The position involves refining accounting processes and requires a solid understanding of technical and financial reporting within the company.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Management of day-to-day financial and accounting activities, including accruals, month end close, reporting and analysis.
- Fixed Asset Register & depreciation
- Balance Sheet reconciliation.
- Calculation & reconciliation of government receipts
- Project reconciliations (SOR)
- Monitoring cashflow requirements & forecasts.
- Ensure tax and other compliance obligations are met (GST, FBT & Payroll Tax)
- Master data management
- Prepare various quarterly & annual reports to meet Hort’s compliance requirements.
- Ensure all accounting procedures are maintained in accordance with accounting standards.
- Develop and implement systems, policies, and procedures to ensure continuous improvement across the finance function.
Relationships
- Maintain a collegiate, effective working relationships with various business managers and financial partners.
- Work collaboratively with the Risk & Governance Manager to execute the biannual Representation Letter and quarterly Balance Sheet Review processes.
Who you are:
The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are necessary for someone to fill this position:
- CA or CPA qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Commerce
- 3 to 5 years experience within a medium to large corporate environment.
- Demonstrated time management and organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical skills including ability to proactively identify problems, gather information and set course of action.
- Innovative thinker who drives the development and implementation of new ideas
- Displays a high level of business acumen.
- Strong senior stakeholder management with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desirable
- Experienced user of Microsoft Dynamics or similar ERPs.
- Experience working with Power BI.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
