The candidate will be responsible for:
- The day-to-day activities of the Florey’s finance operations.
- The financial integrity of all the general ledgers of the groups, including fixed assets, reconciliation and consolidation.
- The operations of the Florey group bank accounts and cash management on a day-to-day basis including term deposits.
- Assist in meeting the obligations of The Florey Group taxation requirements, including BAS, GST, Franking Credits and Fringe Benefit Tax returns.
- Transaction accounting and reporting for The Florey Foundation and The Florey Future Fund.
- The accounting for all investments held by The Florey Group.
- Insurance matters including all claims and calculations for the submission of premiums.
- Assistance with regular financial forecasting and budget setting, and preparation of monthly financial reporting.
- Managing the external audit, including collation of information requests.
- Preparation of the Annual Financial Report for approval at the Annual General Meeting.
- Applicable regulatory compliance, including ATO/ACNC/ABS and attesting the Florey’s Compliance Obligations Register.
- Financial record keeping and archives.
- Financial systems including GreenTree, Magic and NAB Connect including user support and trouble shooting.

This position is a fixed-term, full-time time role. The role attracts an annual salary offer ranging from Higher Education Worker (HEW 8-1) $100,032 to Higher Education Worker (HEW 8-5) $108,281, commensurate with experience.

About you:
The successful candidate will have:
- A university qualification in accounting.
- A minimum of 3-5 years in an accounting role
Experience with the below is desirable, but not essential:
- Experience using large multi-user accounting packages
- Experience working in medical research sector/healthcare.
