The Role
We are looking for a Financial Accountant who is technically proficient to drive month-end and year-end processes, in a timely manner.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant is responsible for day-to-day Finance department activities. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, enthusiastic person who’s not afraid to challenge current processes (when appropriate), but also able to roll up their sleeves and complete tasks, as required.
Your responsibilities:
- Help manage daily finance operations
- Prepare weekly Cash forecast reports
- Drive end-to-end financial management process, incl. GL management, Fixed assets, month end closure procedures and detailed financial and management reports
- Prepare analysis of results for the management team
- Manage the preparation of Board reports
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, including Consolidation
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and review team’s work, as required
- Manage Fixed asset registration, maintenance and depreciation processes
- Manage annual and monthly tax and payroll obligations
- Prepare and/or review annual tax obligations
- Manage inter-company reconciliation process
- Involvement in the preparation of the annual Budget and Forecasting processes
- Be a contact for the annual audit
- Ad-hoc duties as required within the Finance Team or by Management
Skills & Experience
Desirable:
- MYOB or other ERP system experience
- Experience in a similar role and industry
- Big 4 background
Essential:
- Strong MS Office skills, with intermediate or advanced Excel skills in particular
- Efficient and collaborative manner
- Deadline driven
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Ability to work autonomously
- Show initiative and be interested in developing sound knowledge of the business
