Our Melbourne CBD-based Energy and Sustainability Services division is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant for a full-time permanent position. As Project Accountant you will play an integral part in a well establish team of professionals who pride themselves on their positive impact and contribution to an inclusive work environment.

You will be responsible for monthly financial reporting and statutory reporting, facilitating intercompany dealing, participating system process improvement.

Key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to;

  • Preparation of annual statutory report and compliance matters
  • Process project booking and attend project queries
  • Assisting with preparing monthly/yearly Balance Sheet
  • Fixed assets management and report (D365)
  • Ad-hoc reporting & analysis (Power BI/ BFO)
  • Report Monthly financial result on Oracle HFM
  • Review Intercompany ICP reconciliation and investigate discrepancy
  • Process owner of Key Internal Control assessment and action plan
  • Raise purchase orders (SAP/D365)
  • Assist monthly billing and assist debt collection through MyDSO
  • Assist annual Income tax reconciliations
  • Identify ways to improve reporting systems to increase accuracy, efficiency, and productivity.

Short listing for these opportunities will require the following skills, attribute and qualifications;

  • Applicants with tertiary qualification in Accounting/Finance are preferred.
  • Ability to prepare financial statements, BAS and IAS, including FBT
  • Minimum of 5 year + Accounting experience
  • Experience in public practice will be highly regarded
  • Demonstrate innovative thinking and digital mindset
  • Demonstrate ability to meet corporate deadlines
  • Med-Advanced MS-Excel skills are essential with the ability to identify, analyze, and comprehend information from numerous sources, and communicate pertinent information to the appropriate parties.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, customer-focused and good stakeholder management skills.
  • Adaptable, resilient and focused, capable of taking ownership and delivering desirable outcomes within a complex and changing environment whilst remaining an integral part of a close-knit and friendly team.
