DICE is a proudly 100% Indigenous-owned company that provides electrical, construction and smart energy services across the Northern Territory. We are now seeking an experienced Financial Accountant who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to ensuring smooth financial operations.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supervise all financial transactions including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Assist in monthly financial reviews, develop statements, and prepare tax obligations.
- Manage payroll operations and ensure accurate month-end processing.
- Maintain organised financial records and verify business accounts' accuracy.
- Provide administrative support and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Prepare management accounts, analyse variances, and liaise with regulatory bodies.
- Forecast cash flow, assist with budgets, and manage bank and treasury matters.
- Contribute to systems and process improvement projects
- Handle customer service inquiries and resolve financial disputes.
- Support the Finance Manager and executives with projects and tasks as needed.
Skills & Experience:
We are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant who can hit the ground running and adapt as the business grows. You will need to have the following attributes:
- Excellent computer literacy (Microsoft 365, Xero)
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Analytical skills with a problem-solving mindset, highly organised and ability to manage multiple priorities
- High work ethic & integrity
- Excellent communication and team-building skills
- An ability to work in a changing environment where you can bring more structure to the business as it evolves.
- A willingness to get outside of your comfort zone regularly and learn.
- A desire to work in a flat-structured business where everyone is supportive and transparent
- A can-do attitude where you are prepared to roll up the sleeves
- An ability to meet deadlines & maintain strong performance under pressure
- Ability to manage multiple client files concurrently
- Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance
Advantageous qualities:
- Bachelor’s Degree, majoring in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 3-5 years of demonstrated working experience
- Ability to take on challenging tasks as well as routine tasks
- Must possess strong knowledge of accounting principles
- Experience motivating and leading a team
- Experience across accounts payable and receivable
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- High attention to detail, efficiency, and accuracy
- Must be an Australian Citizen
- Valid Working with Children Check
- Current Australian Drivers Licence
- Current National Police Clearance
- CA/CPA qualification (desirable)
- Experience in the building and construction industry (desirable)
