MACH Energy Australia is in the business of developing and operating economical and efficient energy sources, with a strong awareness of social and environmental impacts through the acquisition and development of a portfolio of tier-one energy assets.
  
We have a major coal mining operation operating near the town of Muswellbrook, New South Wales, and a corporate office in the heart of Newcastle. Our corporate team is searching for a full-time experienced Financial Accountanton a permanent basis.
  
About the role

This newly created position is a rare opportunity for an agile Financial Accountant to work within a high-performing team. Reporting to the Financial Controller the Financial Accountant will collaborate closely with the finance team to provide efficient and effective financial and commercial services for MACH Energy. This role will have an emphasis on financial reporting, managing external audit processes, and tax compliance across the group.

About you

As a motivated self - starter you will be confident in the fundamentals of financial accounting. You will have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and possess the following essential criteria:

• Qualifications in finance or accounting
• CPA or CA qualifications
• Relevant experience (4-7+ years) in a professional or mining finance environment.
• Experience in financial accounting, audit processes, and tax compliance.
• Australian driver’s license
• A high level of proficiency in MS Office suite
• Exposure to computerised accounting systems - Pronto experience desirable
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
