About the role
Located in our Brisbane Corporate office and reporting to the Finance Business Partner, you will be key in assisting and ensuring the successful preparation and delivery of Curragh's financial results in compliance with Executive Management and, internal and external reporting timeframes. This role is permanent full-time.
Your role will be rewarding and varied, where you will:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts for the Australian mining entity within required month-end reporting timeframes, ensuring compliance with USGAAP and AIFRS.
- Prepare monthly accounting activities for Curragh, including accounts receivable recognition, port, rail, demurrage, prepayments, accruals, intercompany transactions, asset retirement obligations and foreign currency revaluations.
- Prepare the coal inventory model, collaborating with technical services, sales and marketing teams for physical and stockpile information
- Prepare Balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist in yearly budget preparation for Curragh
- Assist with quarter and year-end financial and SOX audits
- Prepare commentary on balance sheet and profit and loss variances
- Prepare quarterly government surveys, including ABS and DNRME coal statistics, along with other industry surveys.
About You
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce / Accounting
- Previous experience working in a similar role within a Professional Services firm or in Commercial accounting roles
- Previous experience within the mining industry highly desirable.
- CA/CPA Qualification highly desirable.
- Big 4 experience highly desirable
