Hays are proud to be partnering with a reputable Government Department in the search for a Financial Accountant to join their team on a 4-month casual contract.
Your new role
Due to a backlog of work, you'll be joining an established team, based in the Hobart CBD office. Being employed on a 4-month casual contract, you'll be an integral member of the existing team. Some of your key responsibilities will include;
- Preparation of financial and statutory reports related to fixed assets
- General ledger reconciliations and journal entries
- Depreciation, disposals and capital expenditure updates
- Valuation analysis and reconciliations
- Balance Sheet reconciliations and identify any discrepancies
- Review processes and procedures to improve internal reporting and control
- Work closely with internal stakeholders across major assets and systems maintenance
- Monthly financial reports and analysis
- Other project work as required.
What you'll need to succeed
As the ideal candidate, you'll be CA/CPA Qualified and have practical experience within a similar role within a large scale environment. You'll have excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, and can work with minimal supervision and within a high functioning team. You'll also possess strong IT abilities, have clear and concise communication skills, and the ability to swiftly develop internal stakeholder relationships. You'll also hold a driver's licence and be prepared to undergo a national police check.
