The Role
This role will be work closely with systems accountants and business partners to be responsible for and drive continuous improvement and efficiency in system-based reconciliations and process including all reconciliations for Agency sales. This will involve investigating the root cause of outstanding transactions and resolving to clear outstanding items.
The Financial Accountant is primarily responsible for supporting key internal business partners with insights and reporting to help drive performance and work towards their leading goals.
Your span of control includes:
Completing reconciliations of various accounting areas including but not limited to bank, Agency sales & commission.
Responsible for investigating and clear daily variances and complete post to ledgers
Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the accounting for fixed overhead including:
Preparation of accrual and monthly GL reconciliations
Providing cost insight and partnering with the business to control cost as per budget and forecast:
Adherence with Group financial accounting policies and procedures and suggestions to improve efficiency / reduce costs (i.e., lean) and take ownership of documentation of standardised procedures, liaising with other country finance, Corporate and Global Finance teams.
Liaising with the commercial team and management to interpret the results and support the Financial Controller with business unit monthly reviews.
Support the accuracy and integrity of financial processes and reporting of financial statements.
Train team members on key accounting processes and assisting in ad hoc projects.
That's the role, so who are you?
As a critical member of the team, you will need to be someone either CA/CPA qualified or working towards CA/CPA qualification with 3-5 years' experience ideally within an inventory and distribution /retail focused environment of medium to large organisation. You'll be someone confident in your abilities around your financial understanding, analytical skills, and core accounting standards.
On a technical side, advanced Microsoft Excel is a must, and having some exposure to JDE or other ERP systems will be highly advantageous but not essential.
