An opportunity has recently arisen for a career-minded Financial Accountant who is keen to work in a commercial environment where you are surrounded by a team of experienced and knowledgeable accounting professionals. Your manager is knowledgeable, and supportive and believes in empowering her staff to take ownership of their roles and doesn't believe in micromanagement. Your manager will also work with you around developing a Career Development Plan to better understand how you are keen to grow your skills while working in the business. This will be a great opportunity if you don't want to be pigeonholed in your role and want the capacity to grow and develop by gaining exposure to new skills and projects.
The Position:
This role will require working in a small team and you will be responsible for: :
- End-of-month financial and management reporting
- Fixed assets and capital accounting
- Tax compliance including GST, FBT and BAS
- GL reconciliations, journals, accruals
- Checking and reviewing the integrity of data and reports
- Support with the external audit process
To thrive in this role, you will be coming from a Big 4 background OR have commercial financial accounting experience. You should have experience with end-of-month accounting, reporting, fixed assets and tax. It will be advantageous if you have worked on large ERP systems such as Dynamics or SAP. To truly thrive in this role, you will need to have phenomenal communication and interpersonal!
Your strong background in financial accounting, coupled with a hands-on, proactive approach will be critical if you are to fit in well with the team. You should also be quite passionate about systems and how they can impact the business for the better. Strong Excel skills will be imperative. You will also be able to demonstrate a high level of initiative and confidence in working with internal stakeholders.
