Financial Accountant - Inventory | Hanes Australasia | Pyrmont
An opportunity exists for a proactive accountant to be part of our finance team. Reporting to the Inventory Accounting Lead, you will need to leverage your accounting skills whilst assuming responsibility for providing high quality financial information to both internal and external stakeholders. Our ideal candidate will be a hands on team player with a ‘can do attitude'.
As part of the team, the role will have responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of their designated areas of the P&L and balance sheet for the Hanes Australasia group. Primary responsibilities include timely completion of month-end journals, balance sheet reconciliations, P&L and balance sheet analysis, supporting forecasting and budgeting, liaising with external audit and ad hoc financial analysis as required.
An ability to present financial information in a clear and concise manner is essential, as this role will play a key part in helping business leaders manage and analyse their expenditure performance.
The position requires a critical thinking and continuous improvement mindset, with an ability to identify and implement system and process improvements to drive improvements in efficiencies within the finance team.
What will I be doing
The core responsibilities are as follows, but not limited to:
- Adherence to all month end accounting and reporting responsibilities in accordance with corporate timetable
- Management accounting and inventory management for designated areas of the P&L and balance sheet/
What experience do I have?
- Previous experience in an accounting/finance role, you have to know your debits and credits and how to navigate your way around Excel and a bunch of other accounting systems
- A degree in accounting or finance, CA/CPA qualified or studying towards
- Strong communication skills with the natural ability to build stakeholder relationships
- Excellent problem solving skills and ability to take initiative
- Strong time management with an ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
