About the role
We are seeking a Financial Accountant for a 9-month maternity leave contract, with a possible 3-month extension.
The Financial Accountant will be responsible for maintaining the financial operations of the business. The role involves managing the flow of all financial information and analysing and reporting on it.
Working across all aspects of the business, the individual will need to be self-motivated, highly analytical, have an advanced understanding of accounting practises, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ideal candidate will have proven management accounting experience including costing, budgeting and financial reporting.
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing the financial functions of the business
- Working with division managers to ensure costs are tracked, captured & managed efficiently
- Finalising project costs and margins
- Preparing, reviewing and monitoring business budgets
- Management of the financial reporting function including Payroll and GST reporting obligations
- Management of Payroll function and supporting tasks
- Regular financial & KPI reporting to management and stakeholders
- Working with management to develop financial risk mitigation strategies.
- Liaising and collaborating with managers and key personnel
Skills and experience
The successful candidate will have:
- CA, CPA or equivalent qualifications desired
- A proven track record addressing the above responsibilities
- High level of written and verbal communication skills
- Highly analytical with keen attention to detail
- Self-motivation and curiosity
- Ability to multi-task and deliver to deadlines
- High level of computer literacy and experience working with inventory management, project management and accounting software (preferably Xero).
