Over the last four years REMONDIS has undergone a large transformational change as it prepares for the next phase of dynamic growth.
The Role
Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Controller will be directly responsible for the corporate head office finance functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, audit, AP/AR, taxation, treasury and compliance. You will also provide strategic advice and insights to support business decisions including acquisitions as well as leading and mentoring a team of finance professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with statutory requirements, and development of robust financial policies and procedures
- Lead the budgeting process, monitor financial performance, and develop long-term financial strategies
- Lead and mentor functional heads and team members of the corporate head office
- Identify and manage financial risks, implement effective internal controls, and ensure regulatory compliance
- Oversee tax planning and compliance, liaise with auditors and regulatory bodies
- Assist the CFO in managing treasury functions, including cash flow management, banking relationships, and investment strategies
- Provide insights and recommendations to the Executive Leadership Team as required
The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven track record of financial acumen in senior financial management roles, be a strategic & innovative thinker with strong leadership skills, the ability to communicate at all levels and a desire to make an impact. To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- A CPA or CA qualification and membership
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior financial role, preferably in the industrial services sector or a related industry
- Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards, taxation laws, and regulatory requirements
- Experience working in global corporation an advantage
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
