Our client, a large organisation in Newcastle, are looking for an Accountant to join their Small to Medium Enterprises team as a Client Advisor. The Client Advisor is responsible for ensuring they achieve goals by managing clients through a range of service offerings. As a division, the SME team take responsibility for our clients’ financial prosperity with more dedication, innovation and integrity than any other firm.
The Position:
Reporting to the Associate, the Client Advisor will play an integral part in ensuring the business runs smoothly. You will be responsible for analysing financial information to support business decisions, including but not limited to:
- Complete 1st reviews of all financial statements
- Preparation of complex individual tax returns including business schedules
- Prepare and lodge EOM statements, including reconciliations
- Review income tax returns, BAS and FBT returns
- Ensure compliance with ATO and accounting standards and relevant regulations
- Preparation of engagement proposals for new client engagements
- Management of a client list with minimal support
- Providing procedural assistance and training to team members
- Chairing team meetings
The Successful Candidate:
- Circa 4+ years experience
- CA/CPA qualified or nearing completion
- Experience with a client list or interest in taking one on
- Competent understanding of Division 7A and the ability to provide strategies for compliance
- Be able to draft advice for the client on a range of financial, taxation and investment matters for Partner review
- We are seeking someone who has strong Excel skills, and will openly communicate with all part of the business. You will want to collaborate, investigate and show up for your team
