About the Opportunity
An exciting new opportunity has become available for a full time proactive Financial Accountant who has experiences within small to medium businesses. You will report directly to the managing director and have a small team consisting of payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable to lead.
Position responsibilities:
- Develop and implement financial plans, budgets, and forecasts to support company objectives.
- Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Manage the company's cash flow, including monitoring liquidity, optimising working capital, and forecasting cash needs.
- Monitor financial risks facing the organisation and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including tax laws, financial reporting standards, and industry-specific regulations.
- Support the team with professional development opportunities.
- Proactively provide clear & meaningful financial information and advice to others which is able to be understood and applied.
- Overseeing the weekly Payroll and related responsibilities such as time sheet reporting, travel allowances, monthly PAYG and superannuation reporting.
- Lead a small finance team
About You
- You're a person who has a high attention to detail, quality focused person that doesn't compromise and cut corners, with a passionate about making a difference.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA an advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial management or related field.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and analysis.
- Advanced knowledge of financial software and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information effectively to a diverse audience.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and integrity.
