Our opportunity
This 15-month parental leave contract position is responsible for Financial Accounting and reporting at Landcom. You will be providing critical support to senior leaders to ensure Landcom can meet its statutory requirements whilst working alongside an experienced CFO and stable finance team.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
• Manage the Financial Accounting processes, including month end reporting.
• Manage the process of identifying emerging financial issues and trends, providing accounting advice to ensure optimal accounting and reporting outcomes.
• Develop and oversee internal and external reporting to meet statutory and NSW Treasury requirements.
• Assist with the external audit process and project specific audits including provision of supporting schedules, adherence to timeline and continuous communication with the NSW Audit Office.
• Manage end to end the compliance, preparation and lodgement of statutory returns including tax effect accounting, income tax, Payroll tax, Goods and services tax (GST), Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) and Land tax.
About you:
To be successful in this role you will have:
• Tertiary Qualifications in Accounting with professional accreditation to CPA/CA.
• Continuous improvement mindset – experienced at reviewing processes and procedures and finding better ways of doing things.
• Clear and concise communication skills, using judgement and discretion, and the ability to communicate with people at various levels
• Experience in coordinating and managing the delivery of accounting and financial reports, and ideally financial audit experience.
• Aware of the Australian Accounting Standards and concepts, general finance and current accounting issues, and an understanding of emerging accounting issues.
• Preferably knowledge of the property or land development industry
