The Role
Reporting to the Head of Risk, you will be supporting business units in embedding and operating the frameworks, with a particular focus on the Advice and Client Wellbeing divisions and assisting the Enterprise Risk Management team to create and oversee robust governance risk and compliance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist to build a strong and highly regarded Risk Management team.
- Help drive and maintain a strong and resilient culture of risk and compliance, which is embedded across the business;
- Provision of effective Line 2 independent review and challenge across Insignia’s Client Wellbeing business.
- Provision of risk management expertise and best practice advice that is aligned to the businesses’ risk frameworks and risk appetite.
- Line 2 oversight of business planning activities, cultivating and fostering enduring relationships with the business.
- Work fluently across other Risk Management functions in order to have end-to-end visibility.
- Assisting delivery of insightful risk reporting, including to Board and Board Committees.
- Work flexibly and collaboratively within a small team.
- Maintaining existing risk tools within the relevant operational risk & compliance system(s)
- Undertake and assist with regulatory reviews, as required.
- Contribution to industry consultations, as required
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Significant experience in a similar role, ideally within the Financial Services sector
- Knowledge of risk and compliance principles and frameworks
- Strong understanding of the Financial Services sector
- Developed commercial experience and judgement through prior experience in advisory/business partnership roles, with strategic capability
- Strong analytical, verbal and report writing skills
- The ability to exercise sound judgment and problem solve in a complex environment
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills to drive behavioural and mindset changes, across all levels within the organisation and build trusted relationships
- Actively promote the Risk Management brand through behaviours and cultures as well as through adding value to the business
- Ability to impart knowledge and experience through coaching.
- A tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Law or a related discipline
