Overview of role: Our Financial Analyst will be responsible for coordinating reports and performance commentary that provide key insights on the financial performance of Coliban Water to the Board and senior stakeholders. This will involve assessing current operations, identifying areas for financial efficiency opportunities, and guide budget owners and the business to make informed decisions backed by detailed financial analysis.
A snapshot of your day As our Financial Analyst, you’ll be accountable for:
- Driving optimal financial decision making through analysing data and reports
- Leading and developing a financial model for budget and forecasting purposes
- Maintaining a regular forecasting practice based on operational strategies, trend analysis and scenarios analysis
- Provisioning of innovative, customer focused and professional advice and support to Managers, staff and working groups in relation to financial budgets and forecasts
- Identifying and implementing of business improvements and risk controls
- Contributing to a safe workplace and sustainable environment.
- Designing and developing a management reporting suite providing insights into the business performance against strategy, identify risks and opportunities for optimising financial performance whilst maintaining financial sustainability.
- Driving a culture of financial integrity and awareness through training to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, business practices, policies, and procedures.
- Coordinating the collation of financial data for Industry benchmarking projects and pricing submissions as required.
To be considered for the role you’ll have substantial working knowledge and experience in management accounting, cost account or business together with qualifications acquired through a tertiary qualification in accounting/finance and/or qualification in business management or similar and/or five years practical experience.

The salary and conditions for this position will be as per the Coliban Water Enterprise Agreement 2021 Band 4 ($91,714 - $110,681 plus superannuation) range will be offered to the successful candidate commensurate with their skills and experience.
