Position Title: Senior Financial Analyst

We have grown to 18 fully owned cafes and 2 state of the art production facilities in Braeside.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Financial Analyst to join our finance team.
Position Purpose
Provide key senior stakeholders with accurate financial information and analysis.
The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for overseeing the financial planning and analysis functions, including the development of budgets, forecasts, and financial models. The role is also accountable for managing the financial reporting process, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of internal and external financial reports. The role is a key advisor to the CFO and collaborates closely with senior management to provide insights and recommendations that support business objectives and growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies, conduct in-depth analysis of financial data, and provide actionable insights to guide the company’s short-term and long-term financial goals
- Budget & Forecast Development and Management: Oversee the creation and management of annual budgets, ensuring alignment with company objectives and financial targets
- Forecasting and Modeling: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and maintain accurate financial forecasts and models to predict future financial performance, supporting strategic decision-making and risk management
- Financial Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial reports, including weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting for internal management and board meetings
- Performance Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of financial results compared to budgets and forecasts, identifying variances, trends, and areas for improvement, and ad-hoc financial analysis as requested by management to provide insights and recommendations
- Business Partnering and Collaboration: Act as a key financial advisor to various departments, providing strategic financial guidance and support to enhance business operations, project management, and overall organizational effectiveness. Foster strong partnerships across the company to ensure financial strategies and decisions are integrated seamlessly into business
- New Product / Market Pricing: Create financial costing for new product development through business partnering with operations, procurement and sales teams. Provide recommendations on customer pricing and feasibility of products. Periodically review market trends and cost movements in the business to identify the need and value of any price adjustments
- Assist Finance Team: Assist the finance team with additional tasks such as month-end and year-end close processes (including journal entries, reconciliations and variance analysis), preparation of financial statements (including balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements), tax returns and external audit activities ensuring quality information is provided by agreed timelines
Previous Experience and Qualifications
- Statutory accounting and audit experience essential
- Originally trained in a Big 4 / top tier audit environment would be to your advantage. Ideally two-year experience as an Audit Analyst/Manager
- CA/CPA qualified
- Strong commercial and analytic skills with attention to detail
- The ability to continually improve processes and controls to drive a positive commercial outcome
- Proven expertise within complex FMCG, food/beverage manufacturing or retail industries will be ideal
Skill Requirements
- High level of detail orientation and sound commercial acumen
- Ability to work autonomously and collaborate effectively in a team environment
- Possess excellent communication skills with an ability to grasp, comprehend, communicate, and present complex financial, strategic and operational information
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling
- Experience with SAP is a plus
- Ability to build and maintain positive and effective business relationships
