Financial And Management Accountant

The energy and resource sectors operate in robust commercial settings providing essential core level products to national and international markets.

We represent a specialised infrastructure service provider to these sectors. The company's operations span sub-sea services, Pilbara and Goldfields mines, major interstate resource projects and large scale construction.

The company's technical expertise and commitment, strict QA standards and history of delivering within clients' expectations has seen the operation's turnover expand four-fold in the past six years.

This rapid expansion has resulted in the requirement to add more rigorous data integrity and reporting to project costing and enterprise level financial reporting.

The Financial and Management Accountant will therefore take hands-on responsibility for the preparation of financial reports, project cost performance analysis, cash flow forecasting and profit projections.  

The resulting output will need to be readily understood by all levels of management and project leaders.  

Specific responsibilities of the Financial and Management Accountant include;

• Effective, timely, accurate and clear management reporting
• Cashflow monitoring and reporting
• Monthly financial statements preparation
• Drive, implement and oversee implementation of a new costing and financial system
• Tax compliance (in conjunction with the external tax accountant)
• Project analysis as directed by the MD and GM
• Financial input to board level strategy decisions

Experience and expertise with Pronto, MYOB Advanced or other project costing systems will be well regarded.

It is anticipated that experience in cost focused industries such as O&G, mining, engineering, construction or manufacturing will be a distinct advantage.

CA or CPA qualifications and a minimum five years of experience in the resource sector, job costing or project costing environments will set the foundation for success in the role.  

Refined and astute commercial insight will see the appointee become the financial right-hand person to enterprise level decision making.
