Role Overview
Reporting to the CFO, this Financial Controller we be a peer to an FP&A Manager and a Commercial Manager. As Financial Controller you will have full responsibility overseeing the preparation of monthly financial reports, statutory financial statements, reporting to financial institutions as well as ad hoc reporting. You will provide leadership and support the Account Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll functions and teams to ensure legal compliance, accuracy, and efficiency.
Leadership and management will be a key part of your role as you will have 6 direct reports and a team of 12 overall. Your style will be hands on and you will have the mentality of a coach. Critical to your success will be your ability to get into the trenches with your team, and straight after being able to jump back out of the detail and operate strategically.
Lead a critical finance and system transformation that is almost at completion. You will be the driving force that brings operational excellence, best practice processes and procedures for an almost complete Dynamics 365 implementation. Responsibilities
- Support a growing medium sized finance team in ensuring accurate and timely processing of the financial results
- Lead all year end reporting including the preparation of statutory accounts
- Lead the preparation of consolidated reporting and ensuing maintenance of group structure
- Working with tax and legal advisors on a range of functions
- Maintaining relationships with core external parties including financing, audit, legal and advisory organisations
- Provide leadership and support the AP, AR and Payroll functions and teams to ensure legal compliance, accuracy, and efficiency
- Drive new projects within the AP and Payroll teams for efficiencies and to add value within the business
- Work with the FP&A and Commercial Finance team in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
- Lead multiple projects which enhance systems and processes and ultimately drive efficiency
Candidate Profile
You are CA or CPA qualified with strong experience leading transaction control, reporting, compliance and systems. Your technical accounting acumen is extremely strong and has ideally been developed through a stint in a Big 4 or Mid Tier accounting firm. Alternatively you have a resume that demonstrates strong and fast progression in large and complex organisations. Either way, you consider yourself as a confident and highly capable performer and are looking to enter an environment where you can make an impact and nurture an outstanding team based thrives in a collaborative environment. Expereince in system upgrades or implementation with Dynamics 365 is highly regarded. Technically, your skills are strong across most area of IFRS and your verbal and written communication skills are one of your key areas of strength.
