As we continue to expand, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Controller to join our team and contribute to our financial success.
About the role:
As a Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures to control risk management.
Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.
- Analyse financial data and performance metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor departmental budgets and forecasts.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and provide variance analysis to explain deviations from the budget.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Conduct regular financial audits to ensure accuracy, integrity, and transparency of financial records.
- Managing the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and board of directors.
- Relevant Tertiary qualification in Finance and current membership of an Australian body (CPA or CA)
- Proven experience in a finance leadership role, with a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, regulations, and best practices.
